Over the weekend the Northeast Ohio Photographers Google Plus Community held the first Photowalk. We went to to Peninsula (Ohio). I organized the event and it turned out great. We had approx. 15 people show up and we all had a great time.
Peninsula is located in the heart of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and offers many recreational activities including hiking, biking, walking, running, etc. My favorite activity is taking photos!
We started the walk at the Trail Mix Store and then proceeded north along the Railroad Tracks. After that most of us wandered around the downtown area and took photos. We all met back at the Train Station for the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad and took photos of the train as it made it’s scheduled stop.
If you are photographer (Amateur, Pro, does not matter) you can join us online and share. You do not need to have a DSLR, we had some people at the Photowalk using their iPhones and Point & Shoot Cameras. Just remember, it is not the camera, it is the Photographer that gets the great shots!
Below you can see a collection of photos I took at the event. If you would like to see more of what was shot you can visit the Google+ Event Page.
For iPhoneFriday here is a collection of photos shot at the Cleveland Clinic over the past week. All photos were shot with the iPhone.
The Boys and I went to Brandywine Falls in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park this past weekend after Winter Storm Draco came trough. Can you believe we are now naming winter storms? How is this going to work, I can remember winters where it snowed every day, what are they going to do when this happens?
I am not sure if it is only The Weather Channel that is doing this or not, but this is what they say is the reason on their website:
During the upcoming 2012-13 winter season The Weather Channel will name
noteworthy winter storms. Our goal is to better communicate the threat and
the timing of the significant impacts that accompany these events. The fact
is, a storm with a name is easier to follow, which will mean fewer surprises
and more preparation.
Well, anyway, enjoy the photos!
iPhone Friday continues this week. Below is a collection of photos shot with my iPhone.
Way back in August we made a trip to Brandywine Falls and in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. We hiked the Gorge Trail. The Summit County Metro Parks Bike & Bike Trail over IR-271 was opened during the summer and this was the first time I had seen the bridge over the interstate.
Photos of the trip are below, click on a photo enlarge. Photos are also on my Photo Gallery in the Brandywine Falls Gallery. Enjoy!
